Troubleshooting
I1 you l'xperience any of the following dillicultit,s wlule
using tile player, use this troubleshooting guide to help
you remedy the problem. Should any problem persist,
consult your nearest Sony dealer.
There is no sound.
,,,,bCheck that tile player is connected securely.
,,,_Make sure you operate the amplifier correctly.
The CD does not play.
•"_There is no CD in a slit ("-NO DISC-" appears).
Insert a CD.
•,,_Insert the CD with the label side facing right.
•"l_Clean the CD (see page 20).
•,,_Moisture has condensed inside the player. Press
UNLOAD to turn on the UNLOAD button
indicator and leave the player turned on for
about an hour (see page 20).
The rotary table does not rotate.

The disc number, which is indicated instead of the Disc
Memo, has disappeared.
"_The disc number (e.g., *DISC-20*) disappears if
you do not play the disc for more than a minute.
However, this is not a malfunction. The disc
number appears again when you play the disc.
The remote does not function.
•,,_Remove obstacles in the path of the remote and
the player.
"_Poinl the remote at the remote sensor [] on the
player.
,,,,_Replace all the batteries in the remote with new
ones if they are weak.
"'_Set the COMMAND MODE selector on the rear
panel to the CD1 position.
The player functions incorrectly.
•"l_The microcomputer chips may be operating
incorrectly. Turn the power off, then turn it
back on to reset the player.
