    TURNING POWER "ON" AND "OFF" Turning Power "OFF" You do not need to turn the power off unless you are trying to clear an alarm, removing foreign substances from within the machine, or moving the machine. Do not turn off power while using the fax machine. If you turn off the power, you will not be able to receive faxes.

    TURNING POWER "ON" AND "OFF" Selecting Fax Mode This model has two modes: copier mode and fax mode. When the fax mode indicator above the COPY/FAX key is lit, you can use the machine as a fax. Entering Your Telephone Number and Name Enter the telephone number and name of the person using this machine. The telephone number and name that you enter will be printed at the top of the each page on the recipient's copy when you send a fax.

    AUDITING ACCOUNTS When auditing has been set, total fax sending and receiving times and other information can be tracked for each audit account that can send faxes (maximum of 20 accounts). Also, for each audit account you can print out a report containing information such as total fax sending times and total page counts.

    SETTING ORIGINALS Using the SPF Confirm that there are no originals on the original table, and gently close the document feeder cover. Adjust the original guides to the width of your originals. Stack the pages of the original, and place them face up in the document feeder area.

    ABOUT CONVENIENT DIALLING Redial On this model, the last fax number or telephone number dialed is stored in memory. Press the REDIAL/PAUSE key to automatically dial this number again. If you pressed any of the numeric keys during the last phone call sometimes you cannot correctly redial the number.

    BROADCASTING Using this function you can send an original to several fax machines with one operation. Originals for transmission are scanned into memory, and are sent to the designated recipients in order. This feature is useful if for example you need to send a report to several departments in your company.

    Recipient To use this function, the recipient must have a SHARP fax machine that has the confidential fax function. (On this model you can use up to 10 confidential boxes.) For more information, see the manual for the recipient's fax machine.

    CONFIDENTIAL FAXING How to Use Confidential Faxing When Sending a Confidential Fax Before you can send a confidential fax, please confirm that the recipient's model also has this function. On models that do not allow you to enter the confidential box number you cannot send confidential faxes.

    Recipient B Recipient C You can only use this function if the fax machine that is the relay station is Sharp's model having the relay request function. Confirm that the relay station fax machine has this feature. To make a relay request, your fax number must be entered into the relay passcode of the relay station fax machine. Also, when your fax machine serves as a relay station for relay broadcast, the requesting fax machine's fax number must be entered into the relay passcode of your fax machine.

    RELAY REQUEST Entering Relay Groups Before making a relay request, you must enter the relay group information (relay station, recipient). (The maximum number of recipients depends on the relay station's restrictions on rapid dial, speed dial, group dial, and fax numbers.) You can enter a up to 10 relay groups.
