Safe Operation Practices for Ride-On Mowers

Be sure the area is clear of otherpeople before mowing.
Stop machineif anyone entersthe area.
Never carry passengersor childreneven with the blades
off.
Do not mow in reverseunlessabsolutely necessary. A lways
lookdownand behindbeforeand whilebacking.
Never carry children.They may fall off and be seriously
injuredor interferewithsafe machineoperation.
Keepchildren outofthemowing areaandunderthewatchful
care of another responsible adult.
Be alert and turnmachineoffif childrenenter the area.
Beforeand when backing,lookbehindand downfor small
children.
Mow up and downslopes(15° Max), not across.
Removeobstaclessuchas rocks, tree limbs,eto.
Watchfor holes,ruts, o rbumps. U neventerrain couldoverturn
the machine. T ail grasscan hideobstacles.
Use slow speed. Choose a low gear so that you will not
haveto stop or shift whileon the slope.
Avoid startingor stoppingon a slope. If tires lose traction,
disengagethebladesandproceedslowlystraight downthe
slope.
If machinestopswhilegoing uphill,disengageblades,shift
intoreverseand backdownslowly.
Do not turn on slopes unless necessary,and then, turn
slowlyand gradually downhill,if possible.

CAUTION:
Do not coast down a hill
in neutral, you may lose control of
the tractor.
CAUTION: Tow only the attachments
that
are
recommended
by and
comply
with
specifications
of
the manufacturer
of your tractor.
Use common sense when towing.
Operate only at the lowest possible
speed when on a slope. Too heavy
of a load, while
on a slope,
as
dangerous.
Tires can lose traction
with the ground and cause you to
lose control of your tractor.
CAUTION:
In order
to prevent
accidental
starting
when setting
up,transporting, adjusting or making
repairs,
always
disconnect
spark
plug wire and place wire where it
cannot contact spark plug.
