Selecting a main oven function

There are ten cooking functions available on your appliance:
OVEN LIGHT: Separate light control which allows the light to b
switched on, even when the oven is switched off.
CONVENTIONAL OVEN (top and lower element): This
method of cooking provides traditional cooking, with heat from
t e top h and lower elements. This function is suitable for roasting
and baking on one shelf only.
LOWER ELEMENT ONLY: This method of cooking uses the
lower element to direct heat upwards to the food. For slow-
cooki n g recipes or for warming up meals.
UPPER ELEMENT ONLY: This method of cooking uses the outer
part of the top element to direct gentle heat downwards onto
t he food. For gentle cooking, browning or keeping cooked dishes
w arm.
HALF GRILL: This method of cooking utilises the inner part only
of the top element, which directs heat downwards onto the fo
This f u nction is suitable for grilling small portions of bacon, toast
a nd meat etc. The thermostat control knob must be turned to its
m aximum setting.
FULL GRILL: This meth
outer parts of the top element, which directs heat downwards
o nto the food. This function is suitable for grilling medium or
l arge portions of sausages, bacon, steaks, fish etc. Ideally the
t erm h ostat control knob should be set to 200°C
FAN AND GRILL: This method of cooking utilises the top
element in conjunction with the fan, which helps
quick circulation of heat. This function is suitable where quick
b rowning is required and "sealing" the juices in, such as stea
h amburgers, some vegetables etc.
The main oven function selector knob should be
turned clockwise and used to select the particular
mode of cooking that you require. The appliance
will utilise different elements within the oven
cavity, depending on the oven function that you
select. When a function is selected, the power
indicator light will come on.
