Mass Storage Guidelines
Read this section before installing mass storage drives.
Integrated HP NetRAID
The LT 6000r contains an integrated HP NetRAID controller, which controls the
HP NetRAID series of disk array controllers (DACs) in the NetServer with no
additional hardware.
NOTE
The default for the LT 6000r's integrated NetRAID is
"Enabled." To disable integrated NetRAID, press [F2] to
invoke the setup utility, and select "Disabled" for the Integrated
NetRAID parameter.
Refer to the Integrated HP NetRAID Controller Configuration Guide for more
information. You can also find the guide on the following HP web site:

Selecting SCSI Devices
Hot-Swap
Hot-swap mass storage consists of low-profile (1-inch) drives. Use only HP
Ultra-2 (LVD) SCSI 3.5-inch hard disk drives. HP hot-swap drives are set for
LVD SCSI operation without device ID or termination. Do not change these
settings.
Non-Hot-Swap
Non-hot-swap drives installed in a SCSI storage subsystem can be connected to
the LT 6000r external SCSI connector.
NOTE
Tape drives are not supported when the LT 6000r operates in
HP NetRAID mode.
SCSI Termination
The internal bus on the LT 6000r is terminated on the mass storage cage (SCSI)
backplane. Ensure that the SCSI devices you install do not have terminations.
