Continuous Access Journal Z can be used to perform remote copy operations between P9500 and
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array. Data can be copied from P9500 to XP24000/XP20000 Disk
Array, or vice versa.
To execute remote copy from P9500 to XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array or vice versa, set up the
following:
Configure a logical path between LDKC00 of the P9500 system and the XP24000/XP20000
Disk Array.
More than one XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array can be connected to LDKC00 of P9500.
◦
LDKC01 cannot be used.
◦
You can use the configuration instructions in this guide to set up the system. See
operations" (page 56)
Figure 6 Logical path between LDKC00 of P9500 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array
P9500 corresponds to a new system of the above-mentioned figure. XP24000/XP20000 Disk
Array corresponds to a new system of the above-mentioned figure.
Set up the P9500 volume using a CU:LDEV number between 00:00 to EF:FF. As mentioned
above, the volume must be on LDKC00.
Up to 32,768 volumes can be used for volume pairs.
P9500 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk Arrays can be set up in 3-data center (3DC) cascading
or multitarget configurations. These configurations are used when combining Continuous
Access Synchronous Z and Continuous Access Journal Z systems. See
Journal Z configurations with Continuous Access Synchronous Z" (page 133)
configurations. There are no restrictions for combining primary and secondary sites between
P9500 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk Arrays.
If you connect a P9500 with an XP12000 Disk Array, or a P9500 with an
XP24000/XP20000/XP10000 Disk Array, contact your HP representative for information on
the XP12000 Disk Array and the XP24000/XP20000/XP10000 Disk Array DKCMAIN
program verison.
If you connect a P9500 with an XP12000 Disk Array, CU:LDEV number from 00:00 to 3F:FF
can be used for P9500, but 40:00 or larger cannot be used.
