- Page 4 How Your Humidifier Works Your new humidifier is designed to satisfy home humidity requirements through the principle of evaporation of water in the air. Once the filter becomes saturated, air is drawn in, passes through the filter and moisture is absorbed into the air. All evaporation occurs in the humidifier so any residue remains in the filter.
