VMP75 Firmware Updater Instructions
WARNING!
During the firmware upgrade processes, please DO NOT REMOVE YOUR USB
MEMORY DEVICE, DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTON ON THE VMP75, DO NOT PRESS
ANY BUTTON ON THE VMP75 REMOTE CONTROL, and DO NOT POWER OFF THE
VMP75.
1. Click on the VMP75 firmware file to download at
http://www.viewsonic.com/support/downloads/drivers/?prod_name=vmp75

On the File Download Menu – "Do you want to open or save this file?", select the
"Save" option.
3. On the Save As Menu, click on the "Save in:" drop‐down menu list and select
"Desktop" as your destination folder.
4. After the Internet download is completed, click on "Close" on the Download
Complete Menu and click on the "X" on the menu bar on the upper‐right corner to
exit the Internet browser.
5. Insert a removable USB memory device onto any available USB port on your
computer.
6. Double click on the VMP75 firmware file that you had downloaded on the Desktop
and extract both the "upgrade.bin" and "Checksum.txt" files onto your removable
USB memory device.
7. After both files has been extracted successfully, click on the "Savely Remove
Hardware" Icon (green arrow) on the task bar, the lower‐right corner, and select
"Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device".
8. Remove your USB memory device from the computer after the "The USB Mass
Storage Device can now be safely removed from the system" message appeared.
9. Insert your USB memory device onto the VMP75 USB port and power on the VMP75
if it has not already been on.
10. Press the "SETUP" button on the VMP75 remote control to access the Setup Main
Menu.
11. Scroll down, hilight "Version", and press "OK" on the VMP75 remote control to
select the Version Menu.
12. Select "Firmware Upgrade" on the Version Menu.
13. Select "USB Upgrade" on the Firmware Upgrade Menu.
14. When the Firmware Upgrade Wizard found the firmware file and asks "Do you want
to upgrade now?", press the left‐arrow button on the VMP75 remote to hilight "Yes"
(blue) and press "OK" to confirm.
15. Remove your USB memory device from the VMP75 after the VMP75 has successfuly
downloaded the firmware and reboot itself.
