Description
The SNMP community
string enables
authentication of SNMP
messages. If you have
SNMP systems and you
do not enter read
community strings that
match these systems, HP
SIM does not discover
them.
The range of IP addresses
on which HP SIM
attempts to discover
devices. A large IP
address range takes
longer to discover than a
targeted range. Starting
a discovery process from
the integrated installer
initiates the population of
the database. Scheduled
discoveries can be set up
during the HP SIM
postinstallation
configuration process.
Description
Location to store VSE

data such as power
information for each
managed node, capacity
planning historical
utilization data, and
capacity planning
reports. If large amounts
of historical utilization
data is desired for better
capacity planning
purposes, a separate
drive with ample disk
space should be
