  • Page 5 Installation Before you begin, make sure that you have the setup informa- tion for the specific type of Internet connection. The installation technician from the ISP should have left this information with you after installing the broadband connection. If not, you can call the ISP to request the settings.

    Section 1: Installation Connect the power adapter to the Router’s Power port, and then plug the other end into an electrical outlet. NOTE: Use only the power adapter that is supplied with the Router. Using a different power adapter could damage the Router.

    Router Configuration The following instructions show you how to configure the Router. You only need to configure the Router once using any computer you have set up. NOTE: The Router must be configured initially using a PC with an Ethernet (wired) connection to the Router.

    Section 2: Router Configuration If requested by the ISP (usually cable ISPs), complete the Host Name and Domain Name fields, and the MTU and MTU Size fields. Otherwise, leave the default values. Internet From the Configuration Type drop- down menu, select one of the following six connection types.

  • Page 11 Section 2: Router Configuration B-Only If you have only Wireless-B devices, select B-Only. Disable If you want to disable wireless networking, select Disable. Wireless Network Name (SSID) Enter the name that wireless devices will reference when connecting to the wireless network.

When you are finished entering the wireless network settings, click Save Settings to apply the changes. Continue to the next section to configure the Router’s wireless security settings.

Configure the wireless security by modifying the following settings: Select SSID Select the wireless network’s SSID. In this example, the SSID is set to WRV210. Security Mode Select the security mode for the wireless network.

    Click Save Settings to save the changes. Restart the computer. Test the setup by opening the web browser from any computer and entering http://www.linksys.com/ registration. Congratulations!
