The C (for front side) or <J (for
reverse side) lamp lights steadily to
show you which side will start
recording. The other lamp flashes for a
few seconds, then disappears.

6 if the lamp for the side you want to start
recording does not light, press >> or <J
to light the side to start recording. If it
lights, skip to step 7.
7 Press 00 PAUSE on the tape player to
release recording pause.
Recording starts.
8 Press Pt on the
CD player.
The CD starts playing.

Adjusting the volume or the audio
emphasis will not affect the recording level
But these controls will change the sound
levels you hear through speakers or
headphones.

Recording a CD:
Selecting Tape Length
(tape select edit)
You can select the most suitable tape length
for recording a CD. The unit automatically
records all of the tracks on the CD in the
same sequence as on that CD on sides A
and B.
The display shows the optimum length of
time needed to record the entire CD. Using
the tape indicated in the display makes it
possible to record the CD without any
tracks being cut off.
POWER—ON
CHECK 2 1
1 Press & OPEN/CLOSE and place a CD.
Then press 2 OPEN/CLOSE again to
close the CD tray.
The total number of tracks, the total
playing time appear in the display.
2 Press EDIT.
"TAPE SELECT" appears in the display,
and the player divides the selections
automatically.
Then the display changes as follows:
3 insert a blank tape of the indicated tape
length (or a longer tape) into deck B.
4 select dual or single-sided recording.
