Problem
Pump has following problems:
failure to produce pressure,
erratic pressure, chattering, loss
of pressure, low water volume.
Detergent fails to mix with spray.
Engine runs good at no-load but
"bogs" when load is added.
Engine will not start; or starts and
runs rough.
Engine shuts down during
operation.
Engine lacks power.
Engine "hunts" or falters.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Cause
1. Water inlet is blocked.
2. Inadequate water supply.
3. Inlet hose is kinked or leaking.
4. Clogged inlet hose strainer.
5. Water supply is over 100°F.
6. High pressure hose is blocked or
leaks.
7. Gun leaks.
8. Spray tip is obstructed.
9. Pump is faulty.
1. Detergent siphoning tube is not
submerged.
2. Detergent siphoning tube/filter is
clogged or cracked.
3. High pressure spray tip installed.
Engine speed is too slow.
1. Throttle lever in "Stop" position.
2. Fuel valve in "Off" position.
3. Dirty air cleaner.
4. Out of fuel.
5. Stale fuel.
6. Spark plug wire not connected to
spark plug.
7. Bad spark plug.
8. Water in fuel.
9. Overchoking.
10. Excessively rich fuel mixture.
Out of fuel.
Dirty air filter.
Choke is opened too soon.

Correction
1. Clear inlet.
2. Provide adequate water flow.
3. Straighten inlet hose, patch leak.
4. Check and clean inlet hose strainer.
5. Provide cooler water supply.
6. Clear blocks in high pressure hose or
replace hose.
7. Replace gun.
8. Clean spray tip.
9. Contact Sears service facility.
1. Insert detergent siphoning tube into
detergent.
2. Clean or replace filter/detergent
siphoning tube.
3. Replace high pressure spray tip with
black spray tip.
Move throttle control to FAST position. If
engine still "bogs down", contact Sears
service facility.
1. Move throttle lever to "Fast" position.
2. Move fuel valve to "On" position.
3. Clean or replace air cleaner.
4. Fill fuel tank.
5. Drain fuel tank; fill with fresh fuel.
6. Connect wire to spark plug.
7. Replace spark plug.
8. Drain fuel tank; fill with fresh fuel.
9. Open choke fully and crank engine.
10. Contact Sears service facility.
Fill fuel tank.
Replace air filter.
Move choke to halfway position until engine
runs smoothly.
