Using the Power Zoom
The power zoom VV control widens the picture, moving the
subject farther away, while the power zoom T control brings
the subject closer, narrowing the picture, if YOOM" appears
at the left of the viewfinder or LCD monitor, the digital zoom
function shown below has been engaged.
The zoom speed varies depending on how the power zoom
contTol lever is moved: the more the lever is moved, the
higher than zoom speed will be,
When the power zoom control is operated, the zoom position
is displayed in the viewfinder or on the LCD monitor for
cibout 5 seconds and then disappears. The zoom position is
displayed in. 10 steps.
Using the Digital Zoom
The digital zoom increases the magnification of
the power zoom by 4. 5 times. You must place the
subject you wish to magnify at the center of the
viewfinder or LCD monitor.
Slide and hold the power zoom control to the "T''
side until you find the picture you want. You con¬
trol the zoom with the power zoom T and W con¬
trols. When "ZOOM" is not displayed in the
viewfinder or on the LCD ,monito.r, normal zoom
functions resume.
r^ote: You can switch the digital zoom
between OFF. XI00 and ,X500 using the menu
screen (see p. 36)..
Note: This digital zoom has certain limitations
and may degrade at e.xtreme magnification
and cimplify camcorder's moyement.
Using Macro
This .function allows you to shoot subjects as close
as 3/8 inches (Icm). Press and hold the power
zoom control W. The ca..iTiera. focuses on. 'the subject
autoin.atica.ily. Check your Tig.htiiig as it tends to be
insufficient when filming close up.
