For example, when you use the optional infrared
transmitter TMR-IF33.
1 Turn on the audio/video equipment connected
to the transmitter.
If the transmitter is connected to the headphones
jack of the source equipment, set the volume
contro! of that equipment as high as possible
without the audio signal getting distorted.
2 Turn on the transmitter and headphones.
Be sure to set the mode switch to the NORMAL
position when listening with the headphones.
3 Adjust the volume.
4 Adjust the balance.
Recommended transmitter
You can use the following Sony infrared transmitter:

After using the headphones
Be sure to turn off the POWER switch of the
headphones first, then turn off the transmitter.
Otherwise you may hear some noise when the
infrared rays are suddenly cut off. However, this is
not a sign of a malfunction.
Mute function
,
If the hissing noise is increased when the infrared
rays are obstructed, or the set of headphones is
used outside of the effective range (see the
diagrams in "Coverage of the Infrared Rays"*), the
mute function is activated and the sound will not be
heard from the headphones. If you use the
headphones near the transmitter or any obstruction
is removed, the sound will be heard.
When the ear pads become dirty or damaged,
consult your nearest Sony dealer and replace them
as illustrated.

Replacing the Ear Pads
If you forget to turn off the POWER switch
of the headphones
The headphones will automatically turn itself
off after
approximately three hours even if you forget to tum
it off in order to conserve the battery (Automatic
Shut Off function). If you wish to continue to use it,
tum on the POWER switch of the headphones

again.

The AVLS selector on the headphones allows you to
limit the maximum volume of your cordless stereo
headphones without degrading the sound quality.
¢When
the AVLS selector is set to either position 1
or 2, the volume will be kept at a moderate level
without the degradation of the sound quality, even if
you attempt to turn the volume up higher.
The reproduced sound may be distorted or
unstable due to the kind of music being played
back. if this happens, tum down the volume.
When the AVLS selector is set to the OFF position,
you will be able to enjoy the full volume capability
of your cordless stereo headphones.
@ Remove the old ear pad by pulling it out of the groove on
the housing.
@ Place the new ear pad on the housing and insert the
edge of the pad into the groove as illustrated.
@ Make sure that the entire edge of the ear pad is securely
inserted
into the groove.
