Setting the Clock
To use the timer, you need to set the clock. Insert four size
AA (R6 ) batteries in the small battery compartment, and
connect the CD cassette-corder to a wall outlet or insert
eight size D (R 20) batteries (see Choosing Power Sources on
page 11).

1 Depress and hold CLOCK until "AM" or "PM" and the
hour digit flashes.

2 Set the current hour by pressing TUNING/TIME SET
(-/+) until the correct hour is displayed. Then press
ENTER/MEM.
The minute digits flash.
Set the minutes the same way.

Press CLOCK again.
The clock starts from 00 seconds. The clock
disappears after about 4 seconds.
To check the time while playing a CD or the radio
Press CLOCK. The current time appears for about 4
seconds.

Selecting the Audio
Emphasis
When playing CDs, tapes, or radio programs, use the
SOUND MODE button or the MEGA BASS button to adjust
the audio emphasis of the sound you are listening to.
SOUND MODE
To choose the sound characteristic
Press SOUND MODE on the deck or SOUND on the
remote commander to select the audio emphasis you want.
Choose one of the following options:
Choose
To get
POP
Light, bright sounds, emphasizing high and
middle range audio
ROCK
Powerful, clear sounds, emphasizing low and
high range audio
JAZZ
Percussive sounds, emphasizing bass audio
BLUES
Powerful, rich sounds, emphasizing middie
range audio and a bass sound a little higher
than "JAZZ"
VOCAL
The presence of vocals, stressing middle
range audio
no indication The whole dynamic range for music such as
classical music
To reinforce the bass sound
Press MEGA BASS.
To resume sound, press MEGA BASS again.
