Product Status Messages
You can often diagnose problems with your product by checking the messages or icons on its LCD
screen.

It is time to clean the
sensor cover.
The Sensor Cover
cannot be recognized.
It is time to clean the
Encoder Scale.

Printing has stopped.
Check whether there is
an obstruction inside the
printer, and then press
[OK].
Condition/solution
The surface of the sensor cover is dirty. Clean the sensor cover immediately;
otherwise, printing may not be performed at the appropriate head height.
The encoder scale is dirty. Clean the encoder scale immediately; otherwise,
print quality will decline.
Check the following and then select OK:
• Make sure there are no wrinkles on the surface of the loaded media.
Reload the media so that it is flat.
• Check that the spacer combination and platen height (scale) are suitable
for the media you are using.
• Check that nothing has fallen into the printer.
