Notice on connecting the Access
Point to a Local Area Network (LAN)
You must select ISDN Router/LAN or Cable Modem/xDSL connection mode using
one of the Access Point Setup Utilities before connecting the Access Point to a
network that has a DHCP server.
Always consult with your network administrator before connecting the Access
Point to your LAN.
Caution:
If an Access Point with either Phone Connection or Local Only connection mode
selected is connected to a LAN that is using a DHCP server, the following problems
may occur:
• A client computer within the LAN may not be able to obtain an IP address
• You may not be able to access the network
Note:
When either Phone Connection or Local Only mode is selected, the Access Point
gives a private IP address (10.0.1.2 - 17, by default) to your computer which is
connected to the same Ethernet network.
