4.2 Electrical Components – KM404 & KM406 Only
4.2.1 Transformer (Spark Module) and Ignition Switch
The Ignition Switch; mounted on the gas regulator is actuated when
the user presses down on the knob while switching on the
appliance. When actuated 120VAC is provided to the Transformer .
The Transformer creates a high voltage signal and distributes it to
the Ignition Electrode(s).
4.2.2 Ignition Electrode (Spark Plug)
The Ignition Electrode is located to the side the burner ring. When
powered by the Transformer a small sparks pass from the tip of the
Electrode to the to the ground. The spark ignites the gas being
released through the burner assembly.
