INITIAL USE

Before first use, run the kettle through several cleaning cycles following the instructions below to remove factory material or dust from the interior. Discard the water from these cleaning cycles.

The lled water level must be between the Max and Min level as indicated on the housing. Too little water will do damage to the heat element. Water overfill may cause boiling water to over ow out of the kettle.

OPERATION

  1. To fill the kettle, remove it from Power Base and open the Lid by pressing the Lid Release Button on top of Lid. Fill the kettle with the desired amount of water, ensuring the water level does not sit below the MIN marking or exceed the MAX level. Close Lid, checking that the Lid Latch on the inside front of kettle is not obstructed and the lid closes completely. Alternatively, the kettle may be filled through the spout without opening the lid.
OPERATING YOUR DEVICE - Step 1 - Open the lid
NOTE: Do not over or under-fill kettle. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled. If water is over the MAX level it may spill out of the spout when boiling and cause injury.
  2. Place kettle on Power Base. Rotate kettle as needed so the spout faces away from you.
OPERATING YOUR DEVICE - Step 2 - Place it on base
NOTE: Both Power Base and kettle can be rotated by 360 degrees to allow the plug to connect easily with the power outlet. Excess cord length can be stored in the Power Base and secured with cord storage hooks.
  3. Plug kettle into a power outlet. The six lights on the control panel will flash once with a "beep" sound indicating the kettle is powered on. The kettle will then default to flashing only the 212°F BOIL indicator. If a button is not pressed within 15 seconds, the indicator light will turn off and the kettle will enter standby mode.
OPERATING YOUR DEVICE - Step 3 - Control panel
  4. Press the START button to immediately start heating the water to the default level of 212°F (100°C). The water level indicator window will light up to indicate that the kettle is heating up. When the water has boiled, the window light will turn off and an audible "beep beep" will sound. The indicator light below the selected temperature will stay on for 15 seconds and then turn off and the kettle will enter standby mode.
  5. To choose a different temperature, press the SELECT button repeatedly to cycle through the options. The indicator light will flash at 1 second intervals below each temperature option. Press START to start heating the water to the indicated temperature.
  6. Press the KEEP WARM button to activate Keep Warm mode. When the water reaches your selected temperature, the audible signal will sound and the indicator light below your selected temperature will flash for 3 seconds at a time. The kettle will automatically reheat the water when it drops below the selected temperature. Keep Warm mode will automatically end after 30 minutes and the kettle will enter standby mode.
  7. Using the cool-touch handle, carefully lift the kettle from the power base to pour the water. Do not touch the exterior of the kettle or open the lid at any time during the boiling process or while the water is hot.

Be very careful when pouring water from the kettle as both the hot water and steam can scald you. To avoid injury, do not open the lid or touch the exterior of the kettle except for the cool-touch handle and control panel at any time while the water is hot.
