Adjusting the presser foot pressure

You can adjust the presser foot pressure (the amount of
pressure applied to the fabric by the presser foot) on the
settings screen. The higher the number, the greater the
pressure will be. Set the pressure at "3" for normal sewing.

Using the knee lifter, you can raise and lower the presser foot
with your knee, leaving both hands free to handle the fabric.
■ Installing the knee lifter
Turn off the machine.

Insert the knee lifter into the mounting slot on the front
of the machine in the lower-right corner.
Align the tabs on the knee lifter with the notches in the
mounting slot, and then insert the knee lifter as far as
possible.
Note
• If the knee lifter is not fully inserted into the
mounting slot, it may fall out while the machine is
operating.
■ Using the knee lifter

Stop the machine.
• Do not use the knee lifter while the machine is
operating.

With your knee, press the knee lifter to the right.
Keep the knee lifter pressed to the right.

→ The presser foot is raised.

Release the knee lifter.
→ The presser foot is lowered.
CAUTION
• While sewing, keep your knee away from the
knee lifter. If the knee lifter is pressed while
the machine is operating, the needle may
break or the machine may be damaged.
