Take the following steps to connect cables.
Server

Cable connection (example)
1. Connect the provided USB cable and VGA cable or DVI cable to the console
drawer and the server. (See ⑥ in the figure above.)
Do not connect both of VGA cable and DVI cable at the same

time. Doing so may cause malfunction.
2. Plug the power cord of the server to power outlet. (See ⑦ in the figure
above.) Do not power on the server at this step.
3. Plug the power cord into the power connector of the console drawer. (See
⑧)
<How to install cable clamp>
Attach the cable clamp provided with the console drawer to the power
cord, and attach it to the cable clamp hole alongside the power
connector.
Attach the cable clamp to the USB cable, and attach it to the cable clamp
hole alongside the USB connector.

Cut the remnant of the cable clamp with scissors or the like

so that it will not contact with the servers.
To disconnect the power cord, pull out the cord tie while
holding the hook on the cable clamp.
4. Plug the power cord into the power outlet.(See ⑨)
Do not use any power cord inappropriate for the console

drawer.
When you bend cables or the power cord, make sure that
bending radius is greater than or equal to 60mm. If bending
radius is too small, it may break cables or the power cord.
5. Confirm connection, then turn on the power of the server.
6. After the server is started, set up and confirm the LCD, the keyboard, and
the touchpad. If you change settings, restart the server.

Step 4
Connecting USB mouse
The console drawer is equipped with an external USB port. Only USB mouse can be
connected to the USB port.
The external USB port accepts NEC genuine optional USB mouse. If any USB devices other
than NEC product are used, they may not be recognized or may fail to operate
correctly.
Do not put the USB mouse on the keyboard of the console

drawer when using the external USB mouse.
You can operate the USB mouse on top of the mouse cable
cover. However, when you close the LCD or store the
console drawer into the rack, be sure that the USB mouse
is stored in the mouse storage.
When you close the front cover, the LCD, or when you
store the console drawer into the rack, be sure mouse
cable not to be caught.
1. Hold the hook of the mouse cable cover, and open the cover. (See ⑩)

2. Keep enough length of the cable out of the mouse cable cover (see ⑪) and
hook the cable as shown in the figure below. (See ⑫)
3. Wind the cable with winder (see ⑬), plug the USB connector to the USB
port (see ⑭). If you cannot connect USB connector properly because of
cable length, adjust cable length at the cable winder.
4. Let mouse cable through the slit of the cover and close the cover until the
click sound is heard.
