Mounting the pipe system
5.2.1 Shortening pipes

3. Deburr any protruding edges.
4. Clean the pipes, remove dirt and grease.
5. Do not glue pipes and components until they have been cleaned and
degreased.
6. Only connect parts that match each other exactly.
7. Use an appropriate number of fastening parts to mount the pipes.

Do not allow the pipes to sag

Maximum gap between two fastening parts = 200 cm
–
Maximum gap between two fastening parts in the event of large
temperature variations and strong vibrations = 30 cm
8. Ensure that pipes can expand freely as the temperature varies.
9. Connect the pipe system to the aspirating smoke detector.
10. Cover all pipe ends with end caps.

Post-mounting checks

The pipe system is complete.

All components have been mounted correctly in the specified locations.

The pipe system is not cracked or damaged.
●
The seals are not damaged.
●
The aspirating holes are in the correct locations.
NOTICE
Shavings and dust in the pipe system
Affect the detection properties of the aspirating smoke detector
●
Only ever shorten the pipes using a pipe cutter.
●
Do not use a saw or other cutting tools.

The pipe lengths have been defined.
1. Use a pipe cutter to shorten the pipe to the required length.
–
Cut the pipe at right angles to the longitudinal axis.
2. Deburr the cut edge if necessary.
3. Clean the cut edge.
