8. Error Messages and Information Messages

8.1 Error messages

Malfunctions are indicated by means of error messages. ErrorR -
R O Rappears in the display field for HC (1), followed by a code
number.
You clear the error message by pressing the E key (5). The
message, however, is displayed again if the cause of the mal-
function has not been eliminated.
If a number of malfunctions are present at the same time, the code
number of the next error message is displayed after you press the
pump key p (3). The instrument is ready for operation again only
after all the code numbers registered for malfunctions have been
displayed and the malfunctions eliminated.

If one or more the following error messages is displayed, contact
your Bosch After-Sales Service representative and quote the
code number(s).

8.2 Information messages

At various points, information messages are displayed during
normal operation of the exhaust-gas measuring instrument.
Flow rate inadequate

i If the flow rate is too low for a period of 30 s, the pump is
switched off.
Flow rate too low or gas path clogged.
Remedy:
– Restart measurement by pressing the E key (5) twice.
– Blow out the sampling hose and sampling probe by blowing
compressed air in the direction opposite to the suction direc-
tion.
– Restart measurement by pressing the E key (5) twice.
– Replace the coarse filter GF1, GF2, GF3 or GF4 and restart
measurement by pressing the pump key p (3).
Restart measurement by pressing the E key (5) twice.
If this does not remedy the problem, contact your Bosch After-
Sales Service representative and quote the information message.
Press the pump key p (3) to switch back to pause mode.
