injury.
Protect your hearing. Wear hearing protection during extended
periods of operation. Following this rule will reduce the risk of
serious personal injury.
Do not reach into the product while it is running.
Switch the device off immediately if the insertion tool stalls! Do not
switch the device on again while the insertion tool is stalled, as doing
so could trigger a sudden recoil with a high reactive force. Determine
why the insertion tool stalled and rectify this, paying heed to the
safety instructions.
The possible causes may be:
■ it is tilted in the workpiece to be machined
■ it has pierced through the material to be machined
■ the power tool is overloaded
Chips and splinters must not be removed while the product is running.
Only use tools whose permitted speed is at least as high as the
highest no-load speed of the product.
The product is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the product by a person responsible
for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the product.
Always use the shields on the product.
When working in walls, ceiling, or floor, take care to avoid electric
cables and gas or water-pipes.
The insertion tool may become hot during use. Pay extra attention
when:
■ changing tools.
■ setting the device down.
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum based
products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts.
They contain chemicals that can damage, weaken or destroy plastic.
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are
susceptible to various types of commercial solvents and may be
damaged by their use. Use clean clothes to remove dirt, carbon dust,
etc.
Battery tools do not have to be plugged into an electrical outlet;
therefore, they are always in operating condition. Be aware
of possible hazards when not using your battery tool or when
changing accessories. Following this rule will reduce the risk of
electric shock, fire, or serious personal injury.
Do not place battery tools or their batteries near fire or heat. This
will reduce the risk of explosion and possibly injury.
Do not crush, drop or damage battery pack. Do not use a battery
pack or charger that has been dropped or received a sharp blow.
A damaged battery is subject to explosion. Properly dispose of a
dropped or damaged battery immediately.
Batteries can explode in the presence of a source of ignition, such
as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, never
use any cordless product in the presence of open flame. An exploded
battery can propel debris and chemicals. If exposed, flush with water
immediately.
Do not charge battery tool in a damp or wet location. Following
this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock.
For best results, your battery tool should be charged in a location
where the temperature is more than 10°C but less than 37.8°C. Do
not store outside or in vehicles.
Remove the battery pack before starting any work on the product.
Do not dispose of used battery packs in the household refuse or
by burning them. AEG Distributors offer to retrieve old batteries to
protect our environment.
Do not store the battery pack together with metal objects (short
circuit risk).
Use only System GBS chargers for charging System GBS battery
packs. Do not use battery packs from other systems.
Never break open battery packs and chargers and store only in dry
rooms. Keep dry at all times.
Battery acid may leak from damaged batteries under extreme load
or extreme temperatures. In case of contact with battery acid wash
it off immediately with soap and water. In case of eye contact rinse
thoroughly for at least 10 minutes and immediately seek medical
attention.
No metal parts must be allowed to enter the battery section of the
charger (short circuit risk).
ADDITIONAL BATTERY SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product
damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your tool, battery pack
or charger in fluid or allow a fluid to flow inside them. Corrosive or
conductive fluids, such as seawater, certain industrial chemicals, and
bleach or bleach containing products, etc., can cause a short circuit.
Ambient temperature range for battery during use is between 0°C
and 40°C.
Ambient temperature range for battery storage is between 0°C and
20°C.
Segregate electronic waste properly by removing integrated battery
packs from the main unit before disposal. Hand them over to
applicable collection points.
To remove the integrated battery pack: Separate the housing shells
from one another by removing the screws. Disconnect the battery
pack from the circuit and remove.
NOTE: When opened, the product is no longer reusable or serviceable
and should be disposed of properly.
Before removing the battery pack from the power tool, switch on the
product until the battery pack is fully discharged.
Ensure that the battery pack to be disposed of cannot come in
contact with batteries, other battery packs, or conductive materials
by protecting exposed connectors with insulating, non-conductive
caps or tape.
