6.4.1
Introduction
The microprocessor communicates with a large number of I
IC's in the set. It has to know which IC's to address to ensure
good communication and to allow digital diagnosis.
Option codes indicate if the SOC IC's are present or absent.
Attention
Make sure option(s) are saved after changing.
Press the OK button on the remote control before moving
the cursor to the left.
Select STORE and press OK on the remote control.
The new option setting is active only after switching the TV
"OFF" or "Stand-by" and "ON" again with the mains switch.
Only then the NVM is again read.
6.4.2
Option Code Overview
Refer to the rear cover sticker on the set for the correct option
codes.
After editing the option numbers (described above), press OK
on the remote control before moving the cursor to the left.
6.4.3
Option numbers
Select this sub menu to set all options at once.
One option number (or "option byte") represents a number of
different options. Changing option numbers allows you to
quickly set all options.
When the NVM is replaced, all options need to be reset. To
make sure that the factory settings are exactly reproduced, you
must set both option number lines. You can find the correct
option numbers on the rear cover sticker of the TV-set.
Example
The options sticker gives the following option numbers:
The first line "08192 00133 01387 45160" represents group
1 and indicates hardware options 1 to 4.
The second line "12232 04256 00164 00000" represents
group 2 and indicates software options 5 to 8.
Every 5-digit number represents 16 bits, so can be maximum
65536 when all options are set.
Provided all the correct options are set, the sum of the decimal
values of each Option Byte (OB) gives the option number.
Diversity
Sets with the same Commercial Type Number (CTN) do not
necessarily have the same option code!
Use of Alternative BOM => an alternative BOM number usually
indicates the use of an alternative display or power supply. This
results in another display code thus in another Option code.
Refer to Chapter
2. Technical Specs, Diversity, and
Connections.

Reset of Repaired SSB
The NVM on an SSB coming from repair (on component level
in a Service shop) must always be reset.
After a repaired SSB has been mounted in the set (set repair
on board level), set the type number (CTN) and production
code + 18AC's (SSB, display and supply) of the TV-set
according to the data on the type plate of the set (no info on
18AC's here). For this, you can use the NVM editor in SAM.
This action also ensures correct functioning of the "Smart TV"
feature and access to the Smart TV portals.
After SSB repair, the original channel map can be restored,
provided that:
the original channel map was stored on USB stick before
repair was started, and
the basic functionality of the TV, needed for this procedure,
was not hampered as a result of the defect.
The procedure of "channel list copy" is clearly described in the
(electronic) user manual.
A very important issue towards a repaired SSB from a Service
repair shop (SSB repair on component level) implies the reset
of the NVM on the SSB.
6.5.1
SSB Identification
When ordering a new SSB ("Service" SSB), make sure to use
the correct ordering number.
The ordering number is an 18AC (18 alphanumeric code), with
structure <18AC SSB><serial number>. It is printed on a bar
code sticker on the SSB (see Figure).
