To avoid injury from an accidental start, turn the switch OFF and always remove the plug from the power
source before making any adjustments.
● Consult Hitachi Authorized Service Center if for any reason the motor will not run.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

POSSIBLE CAUSES
1. Dull blades.
2. Inadequate support of long boards.
3. Uneven force on cutterhead.
4. Rollercase not level with base.
5. Lumber not butted properly.
Planing wood with a high moisture content
1. Too heavy a cut
2. Blades cutting against grain
3. Dull blades
1. Dull blades

3. Moisture content too high
Rollercase not level with Planer
1. Gears dirty
2. Elevation screws dirty
3. Gears, elevation screws worn
4. Friction between rollercase and covers
5. Rollercase not parallel with planer base

to clogging of chips
2. Too much pressure on the
cutterhead from long workpiece
