Connecting to a network (LAN)

You can connect your computer to 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T*-type networks via an Ethernet network cable. For the
detailed settings and devices needed to connect to the network, consult your Network Administrator.

Depending on your model.
The default settings make your computer able to connect to the network.
If the main unit is docked, you can only use the Ethernet network connector on the docking station.

Telephone lines cannot be connected to the NETWORK (LAN) connector on your computer. If these connectors are connected to the telephone lines mentioned below, high
electric current to the connectors may cause damage, overheating or fire.
- Home (intercom speakerphone) or business-use telephone lines (multi-line business telephone);
- Network lines such 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX lines;
- Public telephone subscriber line;
- PBX (private branch exchange);
- Lines other than those mentioned above.

Do not plug a phone cable into your computer network jack.
