- Page 7 Making Coffee Coffee makers produce hot water. Follow the sequence as described below to avoid possible accidents which may cause severe injuries and burns. 1. Remove carafe from machine and fill with desired amount of water. NOTE: Water will be absorbed during brewing process. 2.

Important: Always use caution when opening the lid directly after brewing, or when the heating plate is on. Hot steam can rise from inside the machine and cause injury if contact with skin is made.
