Replacing the Display This document describes how to replace the display in your Dell Latitude C400 computer. The display and the top cover of the computer are designed to be removed and replaced as one unit. - Page 5 Remove the center cover. center cover Open the display all the way (180 degrees) so that it lies flat against your work surface. Press down the slot on the front edge of the center cover. Press down the keys to locate the right release slot. To protect the keyboard, place a flexible straightedge (such as the ruler in the illustration) across the rows of keys directly in front of the center cover, touching the front edge of the center cover.

Ensure that the display cable assembly is positioned well in front of the display to avoid trapping or pinching the cable when you insert the display.
