Congratulations...
You are the owner of the Chronotherm IV, type T 8602A, the most advanced digital
programmable thermostat that Honeywell has ever produced.
With the Chronotherm IV thermostat you can realise almost any wishes in the field of
home-climate control you can wish for. For a maximum of six periods per day you can set
the temperature, and finetune the desired temperature to half a degree.
The Chronotherm IV is equipped with Adaptive Intelligent Recovery, which makes sure
that the desired temperature is being reached on the time you requested. Using the
thermostat is most simple.
Honeywell has experience in developing thermostats for more than a hundred years. The
combination of this experience with state-of-the-art technology ensures your top level in
home comfort. With the aid of this manual you'll learn step by step to program your
thermostat, and additional examples show you how you can use your thermostat most
efficiently.

1. Time, day of the week and room temperature are continuously shown on the display.
The flame-symbol indicates when the heater is being activated.
2. Pressing one of these buttons the set temperature is being changed for only the
duration of the present period.
3. Shows the temperature which is set at the present moment, the temperature outside
and the and the set temperature of the tele-function (if these additions have been
installed).

Page 5: Programming Your Thermostat
SLEEP 22:30 hrs 15° C 23:00 hrs 15° C Before you start entering your personal settings, first you have to determine whether you wish to use four periods per day or six. The Chronotherm IV uses four periods in the... - Page 6 factory settings: RISING, LEAVING, COMING HOME and SLEEP. If these four periods are sufficient for you, than you can skip the next step and go on to “Programming a single day”. If you wish to use six periods per day, please follow the next instructions. Choosing four or six periods per day Before choosing for six periods per day, first press one of the period-buttons.
- Page 7 Use buttons L and M to program the desired temperature for this period. Your Chronotherm IV is now programmed for one day. You can acknowledge the settings of this day by pressing START PROGRAMMA. The thermostat will now function according to the program you have just entered.
- Page 8 If you wish, you can now go on to program other days. Acknowledging settings and starting the program Press button START PROGRAMMA once. The display will show the current time, day, period and the actual temperature. Your Chronotherm IV now works according to your own preferances. MODIFYING YOUR PROGRAM You can easily modify your personal settings.
- Page 9 OPSTAAN of the current day appear in the display, you can let go of the buttons. Press START PROGRAMMA once. The Chronotherm IV will now work according to the factory settings. Now you can program your thermostat anew.

Page 10: Temporarily Changing The Program
In the bottom lefthand corner of the display you will see the indication TIJDELIJK blink. To cancell the temporary temperature setting yourself, you press START PROGRAMMA once. The indication TIJDELIJK disappears from the display . Now your Chronotherm IV works according toits program again. Once-only changing the program into Sunday’s program... - Page 11 Sunday settings are automatically cancelled. The abbreviations VZ and MZ will disappear from the display. You can also cancell the Sunday settings yourself by pressing one of the buttons VANDAAG ALS ZONDAG and/or MORGEN ALS ZONDAG. Your Chronotherm IV will then resume its original program. THE HOLIDAY- AND TIMER FUNCTION...
- Page 12 After about 10 seconds the room temperature appears in the display. The indication of the day of homecoming stops blinking. The holiday program has now started. Every day at 0.00 hrs the thermostat will count down one day. As soon as the time is down to 0.00 hrs of the day of homecoming, the thermostat will switch back to its normal program.
- Page 13 As soon as the right time appears and the season-indication stops blinking, you can let go of the button. After a few seconds, the display switches back to showing the temperature and the current period. The Chronotherm IV will now follow its usual program. 5. If need be, set the time and day. Please dispose of your old batteries as chemical disposables. Please note: the lifespan of batteries inside the Chronotherm IV is dependable of the quality and technical specifications of the batteries. Possibly you need to set the number of cycles per hour differently (if this is the case, please call Honeywell Infolijn for instructions at 020 – 56 56 392). The temperature in your home is too high or too low - Press the INFORMATION button once to check the set temperature.
