1. Mounting of the addressable sounder base 3379
The addressable sounder base 3379 is mounted in the ceiling with two screws. In case of open wiring (surface
mounted base), cut the required number of knockouts for the cables, on the side of the base (before the mounting).
2. Program the COM loop address
Program the COM loop address of the sounder base 3379 with the 3314 address setting tool, by connecting the
address setting tool connection cable. Write the sounders's address on the "Address label" in the base.
Note!
The address has to be programmed before the sounder base 3379 is connected to the COM loop.
The detector to be plugged in the sounder base has to have a separate address.
3. Wiring
Use single copper wire, 0.6 - 1.2 mm in diameter. Strip its coating by 10 mm and put it into the terminal
respectively. Tighten the terminal screws firmly, max. torque 0.4 Nm.
The wires from the c.i.e. "COM loop input" shall be connected to the SA and SB terminals respectively according
to the figure.
Connect the next unit or the wires going back to the c.i.e. "COM loop input" to the SA and SB terminals in the unit
according to the figure.
An external indicator (ext. LED) shall be connected to the E+ and E- terminals in the base.
Connect the ext. LED's + line to the E+ terminal in the base and the - line to the E- terminal according to the
figure. Note! Cable length max. 3 m.
4. Plugging the detector in the sounder base
An analog detector can be plugged in the base, e.g. 33xx and 430x.
Program the detector's COM loop address (not the same address as the sounder!) and mode by plugging the
detector in the Address setting tool (3314). Write the address on the "Address label" in the detector and base
respectively.
Place the detector in the base with the detector's "Mark" in the same position as the "Mark" on the base and turn
the detector clockwise.
