  • Page 1 Equipment Interface Module Training...
  • Page 3 EIM Module Basics • Reasons to use EIM Modules: 1.)Not enough wires to thermostat or want to use wireless thermostat. 2.)Want to monitor system through honeywell 3.)Installing a humidifier, ventilator, dehumidifier 4.)Use of dry contacts for alarms, alerts, unit protection.
  • Page 4 • 2.)Mounting EIM Module on vertical applications can be accomplished by mounting to supply ductwork or walls in closet. • 3.)Mounting EIM Module on package units can be accomplished by installing anywhere inside unit where water can not enter. Examples: mount on splitter inside, interior wall, heat strip compartment.
  • Page 5 Common to be connected at R and C at the (TO THERMOSTAT) terminals on EIM Module. • 2.)Wiring to equipment is standard connections: example Y to Y, G to G on EIM Module terminals. • 3.) Wiring of discharge sensor to go to S2 terminals on EIM Module, note does not matter which wire goes to which.
  • Page 6 EIM Module Wiring Cont • 4.) Wiring of return air sensor to be connected to S1 terminals on EIM Module, note does not matter what wire goes to which terminal. • 5.)Wiring of condensate safety switch must be connected to the S3 terminals, again does not matter which wires.
  • Page 7 Controls an Equip Module:NO switch using arrow keys to yes. Next hit yes then next says to press connect at EIM Module. Press connect and wait to see green LED start flashing then go to thermostat and hit next. Should say connecting, once connected thermostat will say connected, hit next and you have now linked thermostat to Module.

  • Page 15 • 7.)Next screen says:Return Sensor eim terminal S1. Verify that you return sensor is wired to the S1 terminals on EIM Module. • 8.)Next screen: Return Sensor type:10k, all wired sensors from honeywell are 10k just hit...
  • Page 20 Programming Continued • 9.)Next screen:Wired Discharge Sensor:no switch to yes with arrow keys and hit next, the next screen asks if Discharge sensor wired to S2 terminals, verify wired correctly and hit next. It will then ask if 10k sensor hit next again.
