These indicate the operating state of the system control panel or block of the
recorder and error conditions relating to external synchronizing signals, emphasis,
and so forth, on the remote control unit.
REMOTE/LOCAL lamps
These indicate which devices are able to control the PCM recorder.
REMOTE 1,3,4/LOCAL: PCM recorder, remote control unit, or
devices connected to the REMOTE-1, the EXT SPEED CONTROL INPUT
connector or the EXT PHASE CONTROL INPUT connector, or
devices connected to the AUX connector or the REC RDY CONTROL 1/2
connectors, or
video editor connected to the REMOTE-2 connector
REMOTE 2: Video editor connected to the REMOTE-2 connector.
WORD LENGTH lamps (RM-3348HR only)
These indicate the number of bits for the word length.
SAMPLING FREQ (frequency) lamps
These indicate the sampling frequency.
44.056 lit: 44.056 kHz
44.1 lit: 44.1 kHz
44.1 flashing: Fs (sampling frequency) shift mode, 0.1% reduction from 44.1 kHz
48.0 lit: 48.0 kHz
48.0 flashing: Fs shift mode, 0.1% reduction from 48.0 kHz
MASTER SAFE lamp
Remains lit when all channels are in the recording inhibited state (master safe).
REC (record) MODE lamps
These indicate the currently selected recording mode.
ADVANCE REC lit: Advance recording mode
ADVANCE REC flashing: Prestriping mode
ASSEMBLE lit: Assemble recording mode
INSERT lit: Insert recording mode
