    Direction 2233080, Rev 3 High Capacity MOD Option Installation Manual SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION PURPOSE The MaxOptix magneto-optical disk (MOD) drive, T5-2600P* Star, is being offered as an upgrade option to replace the current Pioneer MOD drive used in CT and MR Genesis-based systems. The current systems have one of the following Pioneer drives installed: DEUH7101, DEUH7001, DDM5101 and DDM5001.

    For MR systems that did not have the MOD drive option before, you may need to order mounting brackets GE P/N 46-306623P1 (right) and 46-306623P2 (left) in order to install the drive. You also need a dual opening bezel (front panel GE P/N 46-307621P1) if the current one has only one slotted hole.

If removing a full height WORM drive, care must be given to the wiring of the ribbon cable and the location of components in the SCSI tray: refer to page 10 for the procedure.

The jumper block pin assignments for the Star drive are described in Table 2-3. Also check the global configuration settings from the top micro DIP switch block, as described in Table 2-4.

    If installing a MOD drive in a computer which did not have this option before and whose front panel has only one opening, order a new bezel, GE P/N 46-307621P1, for installation. b. Remove all plastic positioning pins located on the tray cover above the MOD drive and tape or cartridge drive openings, make it flush with cover.
