Intended use
Your BLACK+DECKER BK150 bathroom scale has been
designed for weighing the human body. This product is
intended for household use only.

Safety Instructions

Warning! When using battery-powered appliances, basic
safety precautions, including the following, should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, leaking batteries, personal
injury and material damage.
Read this entire manual carefully before using the appliance.

Using your appliance
Do not place the appliance on or near heat sources.

Do not use the appliance near flammable materials.

Always protect the appliance from water or excessive

Do not overload the appliance.

Do not use the appliance at ambient temperatures below

10 °C or above 30 °C.
Do not allow the scale to get wet.

Do not step on the edge of the scale.

Do not step on the scale with wet feet.

Ensure the scale is dry before stepping on to it.

Safety of others
Do not allow children or any person unfamiliar with these

instructions to use the appliance.
After use
Remove the batteries when the appliance is not going to

be used for a longer period of time.
When not in use, the appliance should be stored in a dry

place. Children should not have access to stored appliances.
Inspection and repairs
Before use, check the appliance for damaged or defective

parts. Check for breakage of parts and any other
conditions that may affect its operation.
Do not use the appliance if any part is damaged or defective.

Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or replaced

by an authorised repair agent.
Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than

those specified in this manual.
Inspect the batteries periodically to check for corrosion.

Electrical safety

Warning! To avoid the risk of short circuiting, do not immerse
the appliance or the batteries in water or other liquid.
Use only the correct type of battery for the appliance
u
(see technical data).
The electronic components inside the appliance may be
u
affected by other devices used in close proximity, such as
mobile phones or microwave ovens. If this happens, the
display will show erroneous data. To remedy this, either
switch the interfering device off, or move the appliance
away from it.

This appliance includes some or all of the following features.

Use
The scale works with type CR2032 3V.(included), there is
u
a strip under the Lithium battery cover to prevent battery
drain in shipping. Please remove the strip before
continuing with these instructions (you may need to
remove the battery compartment cover to avoid breaking
the strip).
You can select the desired weight measurement
u
Kilograms, pounds or stones) by pressing the button "kg/
lb/st" located at the bottom of the appliance. Hold the
button until the display goes blank.

Place scale on flat, hard surface. Carpeted or uneven

floors may affect accuracy.
Step onto the scale platform (2) and remain still. The

display will show your weight.
Step off the scale platform (2). The scale will turn off
u
automatically.
Note: If "O-Ld" shows on the display, it means the maximum
weight(180kgs / 400lbs) of the scale has been exceeded.
Low battery
The scale is equipped with a low battery indicator. It will
display "Lo" or readings will grow dim or become irregular if
the battery needs replacement.

Battery replacement

Use only 1x 3 volt CR2032 lithium battery (as installed).

Remove the securing screw.
u
Remove the cover from the battery compartment on the
u
bottom of the scale.
