digital mobile phone systems used for cellular communication.
General Packet Radio Service
Internet Protocol
A unique number consisting of four parts separated by periods, sometimes called a
"dotted quad.," for example: 204.17.29.11, assigned to every computer/workstation
connected to the Internet. IP numbers can be "static" (assigned and unchanging) or
"dynamic," assigned via DHCP at each and every startup.
