6.6 Connecting the heating elements and three-phase line supply
POM4320
The connection of the heating elements on the POM4320 is made with six 3-pin connectors.
With the POM4320 for busbar mounting, the mains supply is a 3-phase busbar system. With
the POM4320 for backplane mounting, three screw terminals provide the mains supply.

• Plug connectors may only be inserted in or removed from the connectors on the device
• Power supply cables must be de-energized during connection to the 3-pin X2 plug
Note
• The plug connectors for the heating elements and the power connection are included in
the scope of supply of the heating control system.
Features: Spring-loaded terminal and automatic tool-free interlock. To unlock, press down
the two levers on the sides of the plug connectors. To lock the plug connector in place
correctly, press it in by the plug body and not by the gray unlatching wedge.
• If end sleeves are used on the cables, they must be 12 mm in length.
Note
The connected loads (heating elements) must not exceed the maximum permissible current.
• POM4220 Lowend: Max. 35 A per phase
• POM4220 Midrange phase angle control, POM4220 Highend and POM4220 Flexible:
Max. 50 A per phase
• POM4320: Maximum 83 A per phase
Note
When using heating elements and radiation sources with inrush current, we recommend
using Category AC 3 contactors.
