    KX-CLPF1 2 Removal and Replacement Procedures 2.1. Front, Right, Left and Rear Covers Note: Reinstalling of Covers When reinstalling the covers, install rear cover next to right cover, left cover and front cover in that order on paper feeder mechanical unit.
  • Page 6 KX-CLPF1 2.1.2. Front Cover Before performing the following steps, remove the left cover (see above section 2.1.1). 1. Remove the screw. 2. Release the hook (A). 3. Insert a flat-blade screw driver through the opening (B) as shown in the Figure-1.
  • Page 7 KX-CLPF1 2.1.3. Rear Cover Before performing the following steps, remove the left cover (see above section 2.1.1). If necessary, remove the front cover (see above section 2.1.2). 1. Remove the screw. 2. Release the 2 hook (A). 3. Remove the Rear Cover while releasing the 2 hook (B) and hook (C).

    KX-CLPF1 2.2. Feeder Board Before handling, remove the Left Cover (see Section 1.1). Disconnect the 5 connectors from the Feeder Board. Remove the 3 screws (A). Remove the Feeder Board with shield cover. Remove the screw (B). Remove the Feeder Board.

    KX-CLPF1 2.4. Sensor Board, Motor and Pickup Solenoid Before handling, remove the Left Cover (see Section 1.1). Remove the Sensor Board [2 screws (A)]. Disconnect the connector CN3201 from the Sensor Board. Remove the Motor [screws (B)]. Disconnect the connector CN4 from the Feeder Board.

    KX-CLPF1 2.5. Jam Sensor Arm, Paper Empty Sensor Arm, Pickup, Paper Feed Roller and Pinch Rollers Before handling, remove the Left Cover (see Section 1.1). 2.5.1. Jam Sensor Arm and Paper Empty Sensor Arm Remove the Motor Bracket Unit with the Sensor Board (2 screws).
  • Page 11 KX-CLPF1 2.5.2. Pickup Roller and Paper Feed Roller Remove the 2 Pickup Roller Assemblies from the Pickup Roller Shaft by sliding it in the arrow direction while unlatching the hook from the grove of pickup roller shaft. Remove the Pickup Gear while unlatching the gear hook.

    KX-CLPF1 2.6. Paper Cassette Remove the paper size detector or move it to “Legal Position”. Remove the paper size detector with support plate. Move the corner separator in the arrow direction (2) while pushing the hook in the direction (1), then remove the left ant right corner separators in the arrow direction (3) as shown Figure-1.

    KX-CLPF1 3.2. General Descriptions Following is a brief description of the optional paper feeder board and major electrical component. 3.2.1. General I/O Circuit The optional paper feeder has the IC2 (16bit I/O Expander) that is controlled by printer engine. The communication protocol of the printer engine and IC2 is 4-wired serial method.
  • Page 15 KX-CLPF1 3.2.2. Motor Drive Circuit The motor (stepping motor) is driven by IC3 (bipolar constant current driver). The motor rotates in sync with the clock (PHASE1, PHASE2) that is generated by IC4 based on ACF1_SMNA and ACF1_SMNB. When the both IA1 and IA2 are low level, the motor rotates with maximum current.
