1206 Stand Instructions
WARNING
Read these instructions and the warnings and instruc-
tions for all equipment being used before using
RIDGID
®
stands to reduce the risk of serious person-
al injury.
• Always wear eye protection to reduce the risk of eye
injury.
• Support pipe with pipe stands. Failure to properly sup-
port the pipe can cause stand tipping, falling pipe and seri-
ous injury.

Description
The RIDGID
®
1206 Stand is used to mount and support the
300 Power Drive and other RIDGID products. It is equipped
with tool hangers and a tray for equipment storage during use.
The 1206 Stand easily folds for storage and transportation and
allows adjustment of stand stiffness.

1. Place the base on a flat surface with the leg pockets fac-
ing up.
2. The rear leg includes a leg chain and tray support. Install
the rear leg with the foot pointing out in the leg pocket
opposite the carry handle. Secure with bolt and nut.
3. With feet pointing out, install the interchangeable front
legs into the leg pockets closest to the carry handle.
Secure with bolts and nuts.

4. Position the tray so that rolled edges are facing down.
Align the holes in the tray tabs with the holes in the
legs/tray support and fully insert the tray pins.
5. Place the X washers on the grooves in the tray pins and
use pliers to close the long ends together.
Inspection/Maintenance
The 1206 Stand should be inspected before each use for wear
or damage that could affect safe use. Clean the stand to aid
inspection and help prevent handles, etc. from slipping from
your grip. If any problems are found, do not use until the
problems are corrected.
1206 Stand Set-Up and Operation
1. Locate a clean, level, stable location to set up stand.
2. Place stand with feet on floor and open legs. Carefully
push down on the center of the tray and lock into position.
Keep fingers and hands away from pinch points to prevent
injury.
3. A properly adjusted stand in good condition should sit
solidly with no significant looseness. To adjust:
a. Remove all objects (pipe, tools, etc.) from stand.
Carefully push up on the tray to unlock. Stay clear of
moving legs.

b. Loosen the set screw on the rear tray support.
c. Move the rear tray support towards the base to in -
crease stiffness, and away from the base to decrease
stiffness.
d. Firmly tighten the set screw on the rear tray support.
Repeat above steps 1-3 until properly adjusted. On worn
out stands, adjustment may not be possible.
4. Anchoring for greater stability – Holes are provided in the
leg feet to fasten the stand to the floor. Always anchor the
stand when using with geared threaders to prevent tip-
ping.
5. Place the 300 Power Drive on the stand and secure
with the supplied fasteners. Attach other equipment as
directed in the equipment instructions.
6. Make sure the stand, equipment and pipe are stable for
the work to be done. Use appropriate pipe supports.
Failure to properly support the pipe can cause equipment
tipping, falling pipe and serious injury.
