Electrical Connection
• Before inserting the plug into the socket. Make sure that
the mains voltage to be used matches that of the device.
You can find this information on the nameplate.
• Connect the device to a duly installed 230 V, 50 Hz pro-
tective contact socket.
For use with the mains cable
1. Slide the switch on the hair straighener up. The LED in
the switch lights up.
2. Wait approximately 90 seconds until the hair straightener
is hot.
For use without the mains cable
1. Switch the toggle switch on the base station so that the
light in the switch light up.
2. Slide the switch on the hair straightener up. The LED in
the switch lights up.
3. Wait approximately 90 seconds until the hair straightener
is hot.
Application
WARNING:
Only use the appliance on dry hair.
1. Choose the strand of hair you want to start with.
2. Pin up the rest of the hair in place.
3. Straighten out the strand of hair by pulling the hair down.
4. Place the straightener on the hair line. Guide the straight-
ener towards the ends of the hair.
5. Now work strand for strand through the hair, placing the
straightener each time at the same height. This gives the
hair style an even shape.
Switch-off
1. Switch off the switch on the base station and on the hair
straightener. The LEDs switch off.
2. Disconnect the plug from the socket.
3. Leave the device to cool before putting it away!
Mains Cable
• The mains cable should only be wound up loosely.
• Never tie the cable tightly round the device, as over time
this may result in the cable breaking.
• Check the mains cable regularly for damage.
Cleaning and care
WARNING:
• Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the
socket.
• Under no circumstances should you immerse the
device in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this
might result in an electric shock or fire.
CAUTION:
• Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
Hair straightener, base station, mains cable
• Clean the abovementioned parts with a soft, dry cloth.
• You can clean dirt from the hotplates with a slightly damp
cloth.
Storage
• Leave the appliance to cool before putting it away!
• We recommend that you keep the appliance in the
original packaging if you do not intend to use it for long
periods.
• Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children in
a well ventilated and dry place.
