The cooktop is programmed with 9 power levels at the factory. If you wish to fine-
tune a setting, you can extend the power level range to 17 power levels (see
"Programming").
Melting butter, chocolate etc.
Dissolving gelatine
Warming small quantities of food/liquids
Keeping warm food which sticks easily
Cooking rice
Warming liquid and semi-solid foods
Thickening sauces, e.g. Hollandaise
Making porridge
Preparing omelettes, lightly fried eggs
Steaming fruit
Defrosting deep frozen food
Steaming vegetables, fish
Cooking pasta, pulses
Cooking broths, pulse soups
Bringing to the boil and continued cooking of large
quantities of food
Gently frying meat, schnitzel, fish, sausages, eggs etc.
(without overheating the fat)
Cooking potato fritters, pancakes etc.
Boiling large quantities of water
Searing large amounts of meat
Bringing to the boil
These settings should only be taken as a guide. They apply to 4 normal servings. With deep
pans, large quantities or when cooking without the lid, a higher setting is required. For
smaller quantities, select a lower setting.
