SpeedStream PPPoE Modem Connecting the Cables You can connect the SpeedStream 5100 series modem to an existing Ethernet port on your computer. The SpeedStream 5200 series has both Ethernet and USB port connections. SpeedStream PPPoE Modem Configuring Computer Network Settings To access the Internet through the SpeedStream PPPoE modem, the TCP/IP protocol must be installed on your computer. If TCP/IP is not already installed on your computer, refer to your system documentation or online help for instructions. Both user name and password are case-sensitive. Note Be sure to record your user name and password. You will need to use them when you log on again. If POST passes, the modem continues through the rest of its initialization, and the pwr LED changes to solid green. If the initial POST diagnostic tests fail, the pwr LED will remain red, indicating a POST failure, and will lock the modem.
