Warning! Make sure that the tool is switched off.
Fitting the battery (fig. B)
Remove the battery cover (4) from the tool.
x
Connect the battery to the connector. The larger battery
x
terminal connects to the smaller connector terminal.
Refit the cover and let it click into place.
x
Installing the tool (fig. A, C & D)
The tool can be installed on a horizontal surface such as a
floor or a table. Alternatively, the tool can be mounted on the
tripod (5). The tool can also be hung from a joist or other
secure structure using the hanging strap (6).
Note: the laser lines will only be level if the tool is kept within
5° from vertical.
Mounting the tool on the tripod (fig. C)
Align the notches (7) located in the bottom of the tool
x
with the tabs (8) on the plate.
While supporting the tripod with one hand, press the tool
x
down until the tabs lock into place.
Make sure that the laser is securely fixed.
x
To remove the tool, pres the two spring-loaded tabs (9)
x
and lift the tool off the plate (10).
Hanging the tool (fig. A & D)
Thread the hanging strap (6) through the slot in the top of
x
the tool and fasten the hook as shown (fig. F).
Adjust the tool so that it hangs relatively level.
x
Installing and adjusting the tripod (fig. E - G)
Installing
Choose a smooth and level surface to install the tripod.
x
Loosen the strap holding the legs (11) together (fig. E).
x
Unfold the legs.
x
Push in the top portion of each hinge (12) to fix the legs.
x
Mount the tool to the tripod.
x
Adjusting
Loosen the locking knob (13) (fig. G).
x
Gently pull the first tube out until it locks into place.
x
Extend the number of tubes (14) required to approach the
x
desired height (fig. H).
Turn the adjustment knob (15) until the desired height is
x
reached (fig. G).
Tighten the locking knob to secure the tripod at the
x
adjusted height.
Use
Install the tool as required.
x
To increase working distance and accuracy, place the
x
laser in the middle of your working area.
Brightness of area may affect line visibility.
Be aware that extreme temperature changes can cause
x
movement or shifting of building structures, tripods,
equipment, etc. This may affect accuracy. Verify your set-
up before each use as the laser may have moved.
Switching on and off (fig. H)
To switch the tool on, slide the on/off switch (1) to the right.

To switch the tool off, slide the on/off switch to the left.
x
Selecting the operating mode (fig. H)
For projecting a single laser beam scanning a third of a
x
circle, slide the operating mode selector (2) to the left.
For projecting a triple laser beam scanning a a full circle,
x
slide the operating mode selector (2) to the right.
Protecting the environment
Tools
Should you find one day that your tool needs
replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, think
of the protection of the environment. Black & Decker
repair agents will accept old Black & Decker tools
and ensure that they are disposed of in an
environmentally safe way.
Battery
If you want to dispose of the tool yourself,
the battery must be removed as described above and
disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Place the battery in a suitable packaging to ensure that
x
the terminals cannot be short-circuited. Take the batteries
to a local recycling station.
