Verify Line Voltage Before Use Your new Citation 7.0 Controller has been factory preset for a specific line voltage: 110-120 volts for North America or 220-240 volts in most other countries. Connection to a line voltage other than that for which it is intended can create a safety and fire hazard, and may damage the amplifier.
  • Page 4 Do Not Open The Cabinet There are no user serviceable components inside this product. Opening the cabinet may present a shock hazard, and any modification to the product will void your guarantee. If water or any metal object such as a paper clip, wire or a staple accidentally falls inside the unit, disconnect it from the AC power source immediately, and consult an authorized service station.
  • Page 5 Important information for the user Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. The limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.

The Citation 7.0’s Movie modes are Dolby ProLogic, Home THX, and 70mm. “Music” modes utilize special circuitry to create multichannel audio from standard two channel audio recordings. You will want to use these modes when listing to conventional recordings or to two channel stereo television programs.
  • Page 11 Using Jim Fosgate’s proprietary surround matrix designs, and the newly developed 6 Axis Steering Logic™ technology, the Citation 7.0 overcomes the limitations typically found in DSP. By carefully delaying signals, and controlling the amount of front channel information mixed into the rear channels, and through the use of other carefully tuned, proprietary circuits, the 7.0 is able to produce a pleasing multichannel sound from almost any two channel...
  • Page 12 HINT: As with the “movie” modes, the choice of which surround mode to use for musical selections is something best determined through experimentation. For most systems, the Automatic Calibration is the quickest, easiest and most accurate way to set up a system. If you prefer to establish the levels yourself, manual calibration is required.
  • Page 27 During the calibration, you will see the on screen display indicate the level being set for each speaker. If the system is unable to properly calibrate the level for any output channel, a “Failure” message will appear on screen (Figure #xx). Before proceeding again check to make certain that all amplifiers and speakers are properly connected, and that any adjustments on the speakers or amplifiers themselves are made.

  • Page 53 Hi Frequency Equalization Also called Re-Equalization™ when used in the THX mode, this control compensates for the way that motion picture soundtracks are mixed. They often sound “bright” in a home environment due to the difference between home and theater acoustics. This is where you may compensate for these differences so that listener fatigue and harshness is minimized.
