Entering Text
Multiple text entry methods make it easy for you to enter
names, numbers, and messages on your phone.
Choosing a Text Mode
Most text entry screens let you enter letters, numbers,
and/or symbols as required. Press
M
> Entry Method ) from a text entry screen to select a
text mode:
iTAP
Tap Method
Numeric
Symbol
Browse
Note: The text mode you select remains active until you
change it by selecting another mode. For descriptions of
the indicators that appear on the internal display to show
the current active text entry mode, see page 29.
Using Tap Method
This is the standard mode for entering text on your phone.

Let the phone predict each word as you
enter it. See page 39.
Enter letters, numbers, and symbols by
pressing a key one or more times. See
following section.
Enter numbers only.
Enter symbols only. See page 43.
Browse your phonebook or recent call
lists to select a name or number.
