A. Exit folders by pressing MENU as many times as needed.
B. Use the viewfinder to locate something you can practice focusing the camera on.
C. Use the zoom and the focus rings to obtain a sharp picture. (Tip: rotate the focus
ring sharply to the right and left and determine at which point, between the two
directions, the picture becomes clear. Continue to rotate left/right using less
distance in each direction until you have obtained a clear picture.)
D. Use the W/T lever to zoom in/out. (Note: You will have to adjust the focus each
time you change the zoom.)
E. Once you are ready to begin shooting, press the center button of the control dial
to enter Standby (STBY) mode. STBY should appear in green on the LED
display. NOTE: All settings are locked in STBY mode, so be sure the zoom
and focus settings are adjusted to their desired settings before entering
this mode. To exit STBY mode, press the center button again.
F. To record a movie, press the MOVIE button. The camera will either record two
seconds of footage before or after the MOVIE button is pressed (see Timing of
Recording in Glossary of Terms). Once MOVIE is pressed, the recorded video is
automatically saved to the memory card.
