TECHNICAL INFORMATION

PDP (PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL) DESCRIPTION
! CAUTION
Although a PDP is made with highly advanc ed precision, this does not nec essarily mean all of the cells operate correctly. The PDP
inevitably inc ludes cell that do not light or light constantly.
If the specifications (PDP performance) are unclear at the time of shipment, an adequate description cannot be c onveyed to the customer.
In event of inquiries from c ustomers regarding PDP performance, chec k the following s pecifications in order to offer a suitable reply.
! CELL ARRANGEMENT
The PDP is cons tructed of front and rear glas s substrates provided with respec tive discharge elec trodes. Between these, neon for
discharging and xenon for generating ultraviolet rays are enclos ed.
One picture element (pixel) is composed of Red, Green and Blue (RGB) cells. The c ell pitch is 0.36 mm horiz ontal (1.08 mm per pixel) by
1.08mm vertical.
As s hown in Fig.1, the cells are arranged for each R/G/B c olour. A pixel consists of each cell of R/G/B/ colour.
The size of a cell is 0.36mm horizontally and 1.08mm vertically.

! PIXEL FAULT
There are two pixel faults - bright fault and dark fault - that are respectively defined as follows.
(1) BRIGHT FAULT
In this pixel fault, a c ell that should not light originally is lighting or flashing on and off.
For checking this pixel fault, input ALL BLACK SCREEN and find out the cell that is lighting or flashing on and off.
(2) DARK FAULT
In this pixel fault, a cell that should light originally is not lighting or not flas hing on and off or lighting with the bright ness twic e as brighter
as originally lighting.
For checking this pixel fault, input 100% of eac h RGB c olour and find out the cell that is not lighting or not flashing on and off or lighting
with the brightness as brighter as originally lighting.
