Such components are commonly called Electrostatically Sensitive Devices (ESD). Examples of typical ESD are integrated circuits and some field-effect transistors. The following techniques will reduce the incidence of component damage caused by static electricity. Immediately before handling any semiconductor components or assemblies, drain the electrostatic charge from your body by touching a known earth ground.

    TV. The Picture Test displays a high definition picture you can examine for flaws or faults. If the test picture does not appear or there is noise or distortion, the TV may have a problem. Contact Samsung’s Call Center for assistance. If the test picture is displayed properly, there may be a problem with an external device.
  • Page 32 4. Troubleshooting The Problem Try this! Store displays are all tuned to digital, HD (high definition) channels. If you have an analog cable/set top box, upgrade to a digital set top box. Use HDMI or Component cables to deliver HD (high definition) picture quality. Many HD channels are upscaled from SD (Standard Definition) content.
