Basic control

Installing the player
• When installing this player, make sure to put
it on a level and stable surface.
Don
t install it on the following places:
'
– on a color TV (the screen may distort)
– near a cassette deck (or close to a device
that gives off a magnetic fi eld). This may
interfere with the sound.
– in direct sunlight
– in damp or wet areas
– in extremely hot or cold areas
– in places where there is vibration or other
movement
– in places that are very dusty in places that
have hot fumes or oils (such as a kitchen)

Loading the batteries
The batteries included with the player are
to check initial operations; they may not last
over a long period. We recommend using
alkaline batteries that have a longer life.
Common instructions
NETWORK
Switching the unit between standby and on

 Press SYSTEM ON ( 1 ) to turn on the network audio player and stereo receiver.
NET
 Press
SYSTEM OFF ( 1 ) to turn off the network audio player and stereo receiver.

 Press  NETWORK ( 1 ) to turn on the network audio player only.
 Press  RECEIVER ( 1 ) to turn on the stereo receiver only.

Network audio player (N-P01)

Those using XN-P02 and XN-P02DAB must switch the source of the stereo receiver to
NETWORK by pressing NETWORK ( 3 ).
BASS
Listening to the Internet Radio

1. Press CONTROL NET ( 7 ), and press NET SERVICE ( 4 ) repeatedly to select Internet Radio.
DIMMER
2. Use  ( 5 ) to select the folder and press ENTER ( 5 ).

VOLUME
Listening to the audio fi le on Music Server
1. Press CONTROL NET ( 7 ), and press M.SERVER ( 4 ) to select Music Server.
2. Use  ( 5 ) to select the folder and press ENTER ( 5 ).

3. Select the audio fi le. Press  ( 6 ) to start playback.
Listening to the favorite songs
1. Press CONTROL NET ( 7 ), and press FAVORITES ( 4 ) to select Favorites.
2. Select the station or the audio fi le. Press ENTER ( 5 ) to start playback.
MUTE
Playing iPod/iPhone/iPad/USB device
1. Press CONTROL NET ( 7 ), and press iPod/USB ( 4 ) to select iPod/USB.
2. Connect your iPod/iPhone/iPad/USB device to the iPod/iPhone/iPad/USB terminal.
3. Press  ( 6 ) to start playback.

SHUFFLE
Control sound and adjust volume
PLAY MODE
 Press DIRECT ( 8 ) to listen to the sound source in the original sound quality.
 Press TREBLE +/‒ ( 9 ) or BASS +/‒ ( 9 ) to adjust sound quality.
 Press VOLUME +/‒ ( c ) to adjust the listening volume.
Favorite
 Press MUTE ( c ) to mute the sound.
Setting the clock
1. Press CONTROL RCV ( 7 ).
2. Press CLOCK ( a ) and press ENTER ( 5 ).
3. Use  ( 5 ) and ENTER ( 5 ) to adjust the day of the week and time.
Listening to the radio
1. Press TUNER ( 3 ).
2. Press CONTROL RCV ( 7 ), and press BAND ( 2 ) to select a band (FM MONO or FM STEREO).
3. Use TUNE  ( 5 ) to tune.
Listening to DAB (XC-P01DAB only)
1. Press TUNER ( 3 ).
2. Press CONTROL RCV ( 7 ), and press BAND ( 2 ) to select DAB.
3. Use TUNE  ( 5 ) to select a DAB service, and press ENTER ( 5 ).
4. When listening to DAB for the fi rst time, press AUTO TUNE ( 6 ) instead of the operation in step 3.
CAUTION
• Incorrect use of batteries may result in
such hazards as leakage and bursting.
Observe the following precautions:
– When disposing of used batteries, please
comply with governmental regulations or
environmental public institution's rules
that apply in your country/area.
– Do not use or store batteries in direct
sunlight or other excessively hot place,
such as inside a car or near a heater.
This can cause batteries to leak,
overheat, explode or catch fi re. It can
also reduce the life or performance of
batteries.
