Connecting to network

Connecting this receiver using
wired LAN
1. Be sure your router supports DHCP server
function.
2. Use the LAN cable to connect this receiver
and your router.
3. Plug the power cord into an AC outlet.
Connecting this receiver using
wireless LAN
A: Connecting to a router with WPS-
PBC function
1. Plug the power cord into an AC outlet.
Press  STANDBY/ON.
2. Press NETWORK SETUP on the remote
control.
3. Select Network Setting WPS.
4. Useto select PBC (Push Button
Confi guration) and then press ENTER.
5. Press the WPS button on the router.
If the connection does not succeed, return to
step 3 and select PIN Input.
For details, refer to Operating Instructions on
the CD-ROM.
PBC (Push Button Confi guration)
• The wireless connection setting is automatically
confi gured by pressing the WPS button on the
WPS compatible wireless LAN device.
C: Connection settings using an iOS
device
You can apply iPod/iPhone/iPad (iOS device
with iOS ver 5.0 or later)'s Wi-Fi settings to
this receiver.
1. Be sure the LAN cable is not connected to
the receiver.
2. Unlock your iPod/iPhone/iPad that Wi-Fi
connection is completed.
3. Plug the power cord into an AC outlet.
Press  STANDBY/ON.
4. Press iPod or USB on the remote control.
If you press iPod, connect iPod/iPhone to the
docking station. If you press USB, connect
the iOS device to the USB/iPod/iPhone/iPad
terminal.
5. Press SETUP.
6. Select Network Setting  Network
Confi guration  Wireless  iOS Device
and then press ENTER.
7. Tap Allow on iPod/iPhone/iPad.
Share Wi-Fi Settings?
The Wi-Fi settings of your iPod/iPhone/iPad
are applied to the receiver.
B: Connecting to a router without
WPS-PBC function
This section describes how to set the
network connection using Safari browser
on a Macintosh computer. Be sure your
computer is equipped with wireless LAN
function. Settings can be performed from the
Web browser of the computer.
1. Be sure the LAN cable is not connected to
the receiver.
2. Plug the power cord into an AC outlet.
Press STANDBY/ON.
3. Press NETWORKSETUP on the remote
control.
4. Select Network Setting Network
Confi guration  Wireless  Web Control.
5. Select Start OK.
The receiver restarts. Change settings on
Web Control on your computer.
6. Select Pioneer Setup (this receiver) in the
available wireless network connections on
your computer.
SSID is displayed as Pioneer Setup:xxxxxx.
"xxxxxx" is the lower three bytes of the MAC
address.
• You can change this receiver's network settings
via Safari browser.
• The setting for the network has been confi rmed
for Mac OS X 10.7 and Safari 5.1.
Firmware Update using Safari
browser
You can update this receiver's fi rmware via
Safari browser. Download the latest fi rmware
at Pioneer website.
1. Be sure this receiver and your computer
are connected to the same wired or
wireless network.
2. Launch Safari on your computer.
3. Press Bookmark icon. Click Bonjour list
(a), and then select this receiver's name
(Friendly Name) (b) in Bookmark.
If Bonjour list is not displayed, access the IP
address "http://(the receiver's IP address)"
from Safari.
If you use X-HM71 or X-HM81, XC-HM71
or XC-HM81 is displayed as the receiver's
name.

7. Launch Safari on your computer.
8. Press Bookmark icon. Click Bonjour list
(a), and then select this receiver's name
(Friendly Name) (b) in Bookmark.
If Bonjour list is not displayed, access the IP
address "http://192.168.1.1/" from Safari.
If you use X-HM71 or X-HM81, XC-HM71
or XC-HM81 is displayed as the receiver's
name.

9. Click Network Confi guration. Select Auto
and then press OK.
10. Setup the network settings manually and
then press Apply.
If SSID is not displayed, return to step 9
and select Manual.
The receiver restarts and the new network
settings are applied to the receiver.
5. Press Start.
The fi rmware update prepare screen is
displayed. If the screen does not switch
automatically, click Click here.
6. Browse the latest fi rmware on your
computer (a) and then press Upload (b).
The confi rmation screen is displayed.
If you continue the fi rmware update, press
Yes. Once the fi rmware update process
starts, you can't stop it.
Wait until the fi le is uploaded (about one
minute may be required depending on your
LAN connection environment).

7. The fi rmware upload status screen is
displayed.
"The upload process fi nished successfully."
will be shown when the update is completed.
Unplug the the power cord from the AC outlet
after the update is completed.
